Forever and Ever Amen
Over fifty years of marriage.
Together till the end.
A type of love these new generations
just don't understand
His I.V. died over ten years ago.
God gave her wings to fly
With a tear he often spoke of missing her.
His love for her would never die
He asked for years to see her again
but it wasn't his time to go
So his loyal son checked on him often.
Oh how they loved each other so.
He finally got his wish today;
he's waltzing with his true love
Holding her close in his arms
on a cloud way up above
The preacher went to see him
just a couple of months ago
He said "your Father will be calling soon.
Are you ready to go"
Earnest said "yes preacher. I am ready
to meet my God above
But most of all my tears of happiness flow
because I will see my only love
She'll be standing there with open arms;
a big smile upon her face
I will pick her up and hold her close
in a warm and loving embrace"
Now they will never have to worry
about being apart again
They have each other enormous love
"Forever and Ever, Amen"
