Sometimes a person wants a gift that will intensify the fire in their belly and make their heart flutter. But it is important not to take advantage of these reactions by striving for them each and every time.

It is important for your gifts not to fall within a predictable trend. Because the next thing you know, a brilliant necklace for her birthday is just another piece of jewelry and an excellent engraved keepsake for Valentine’s Day is just another paper weight for him.

Remembering that there is more to a relationship than just romance serves as a simple and effective cure for the previous conundrum. One thing that successful relationships have in common is balance.

It's not all fun & games, it's not all adventure, it's not all serious business, and it's not all romance. Your bond with your significant other should be a compilation of all the previous characteristics, not a specialty in merely one or two.

It makes sense then that every present you buy for your loved one need not be adventurous or HaHaHa funny or a romantic gift. Instead, each present should highlight a different aspect of the relationship than the gift preceding it did (and, of course, send the message to the receiver that you love them).
