Break Through:Playboy, Myspace celebrity, A Shot at Love
Tila's real name is actually Thien Nyguyen. She was born in Singapore, but after one year moved to Houston, Texas with her family. She was raised in a firm Buddhist neighborhood by her Vietnamese-French parents (Tila is 3/4 Vietnamese and 1/4 French).
At the age of eight, things began to change change. At eleven years old she had experienced hard drugs (heroin) and at thirteen years old, she drank regularly (this is also the age when she was given her nickname "Tila Tequila").
By the time she turned fourteen, she was placed in a boarding school for the better part of a year and when she turned fifteen, she started smoking and got her first tattoo. When she was sixteen, she ran off to New York City.
Tila's modeling career began by luck. At the age of nineteen, while shopping at a mall, she was approached by a modeling scout and hired to pose for Playboy magazine. She was at first hesitant, then signed and moved to Hollywood, CA.
Many just know her from the television series Shot at Love, but there is much more on Tila's resume than just relationship hunting. She is a singer, actress, fashion designer, and Myspace celebrity.
Tila has been featured on the cover of Stuff Magazine, the comic book "Saint Sinners", and in the video game "Street Racing Syndicate." In 2008, she ranked #100 on Maxim magazine's Hot 100 list.
